KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island dipped one spot in both of the national FCS Top 25 polls this week, landing at No. 6 in the
AFCA FCS Coaches Poll and No. 7 in the
Stats Perform FCS Top 25. Both polls came out Monday morning.
The Rams (3-0) are tied with Montana State for sixth in the AFCA poll. Both schools received 519 points, just two behind No. 5 Montana, which jumped up two spots after its 24-23 win over No. 17 North Dakota.
In the Stats Perform poll, Rhode Island got 1,037 points, coming in just behind Illinois State (1,051). Â Â Â
There was no change in the top three for either poll. North Dakota State, South Dakota State and Tarleton State are 1-2-3 in both polls.
Rhode Island is one of 10 FCS teams that remain unbeaten, not including the Ivy League, which has not begun play yet. Tarleton State of the Atlantic Sun is 4-0 and has a victory over FBS program Army.
Tennessee Tech (Ohio Valley); Presbyterian (Pioneer); Western Georgia (Atlantic Sun); Lehigh (Patriot League); North Dakota State (Missouri Valley); South Dakota State (Missouri Valley) and UTRGV (Southland) are all 3-0.
Rhode Island hosts LIU in its Homecoming Game on Saturday, Sept. 30. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
