Rams Picked Fourth; Debroise, Gray Earn A-10 Preseason Accolades

KINGSTON, R.I. — Rhode Island women's basketball was picked to finish fourth in the Atlantic 10 Preseason Poll, the league announced Tuesday ahead of Media Day.

Saint Louis transfer guard Brooklyn Gray was selected to the Preseason All-Conference Second Team, while senior guard Ines Debroise earned a spot on the Preseason All-Defensive Team.

Gray joined the Rams after spending the past two seasons at Saint Louis, where she totaled 810 career points. She scored a career-high 30 in last year's Atlantic 10 Tournament and posted five 20-point games, including a 22-point performance in the Billikens' win over Rhode Island on Feb. 26.

Debroise, entering her senior season, has run the Rams' offense at point guard during her career at Rhody Island. Known for her defense, she tallied 22 steals in 27 games last season. It marks her first career A-10 preseason honor.

The Rams reloaded in the offseason, adding three in-conference transfers: Gray (SLU), George Mason's Ta'Viyanna Habib and VCU's Valentina Ojeda. Habib arrives in Kingston a reigning A-10 champion with the Patriots, while Ojeda recently represented Team Chile at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in China.

"I call [Brooklyn, Ta'Viyanna and Valentina] 'The Big Three,'" head coach Tammi Reiss said in April when the trio signed. "I've seen all of them up close for years and have been thoroughly impressed by their skill sets, their experience in our league and how they've performed against our team. They understand our conference and have proven they can compete and get it done in the A-10."

Rhode Island opens the 2025-26 season at Manhattan on Nov. 3. The Rams' home opener is set for Nov. 7 against Merrimack at the Ryan Center.

Season tickets are on sale now! Click here to secure your seats today. Fans who purchase season tickets by Friday, Oct. 3, will be entered to win a dinner for two at the Coast Guard House in Narragansett, R.I., with Coach Reiss and a player of their choice.
