How It Happened
The Brown tandem of Sophia Wolfson and Mariia Sidorova was too much for Rhode Island. The pair combined for 26 kills to lead the Bears to a 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 26-24) sweep of URI Saturday evening at the Ocean State Cup.

Set One – Brown 25, Rhode Island 19
A mini run early in the set was the difference. With the score tied 6-6, Brown (2-1) went on a 6-2 run that included three kills from Isabella Bonatakis. From there, the teams were never separated by more than six points or less than three points, as the Bears kept Rhody at an arm's length. Bonatakis ended the frame with her fourth kill of the set.

Set Two – Brown 25, Rhode Island 19
The scored stayed within four points throughout, but other than two early ties, Brown led the entire way. An Autumn Tombline ace got the Rams within 22-19, but a kill by Mariia Sidorova followed by back-to-back Sophia Wolfson kills thwarted any hopes of a Rhody rally.

Set Three – Brown 26, Rhode Island 24
The final set was a wild affair with 17 ties and 10 lead changes. Neither side led by more than three points (Brown at 9-6). Chloe Abuto and Emma Vente both had four kills and Dakota Henry provided five digs in Rhode Island's best set of the weekend. It wasn't enough, as Brown had 20 kills with just five errors to complete the sweep. Sophia Wolfson had six kills and Mariia Sidorova added five more to lead the Bears.
