RHODE ISLAND VS. DUQUESNE - Series notes 

  • Rhode Island returns home Sunday to face Duquesne at the Ryan Center.
  • The Rams enter Sunday winning their last nine straight games. 
  • Sunday will be the 63rd meeting against Duquesne.
  • Rhody is 23-39 all-time against the Dukes. 
  • The teams met twice last season and split the season series 1-1. Rhody handed the Dukes a 59-57 loss on Feb. 5 after Duquesne sent the Rams home with a 77-64 loss on Jan. 19.
  • In Rhody's last game against the Dukes a year ago, Sophia Vital dropped 20 points and dished out five assists.

SCOUTING THE DUKES

  • Duquesne comes to Kingston on a five-game skid.
  • The Dukes are 2-6 on the road.
  • Last time out, Duquesne fell to George Washington 59-45.
  • The Dukes last win was an 84-69 win over Pitt on Dec. 21.
  • Duquesne is led by true freshman Alexis Bordas and her 16.0 points per game.
  • Bordas is a three-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week.

SUNDAY SHOWDOWN ON THE NATIONAL STAGE

  • Rhode Island's game against Duquesne will be broadcast nationally on USA Network.
  • On the call will be Joe Castellano (play-by-play) and Edona Thaqi (analyst).
  • It's the first of two national TV games for the Rams this season.
  • Rhody is on CBS Sports a week from Sunday for the game at Dayton.

ROAD DAWWWWWWWGS

  • Last time out, Rhode Island defeated VCU 46-41 to stay undefeated in Atlantic 10 play and move to 8-1 on the road. 
  • It was the seventh straight road win for the Rams, who haven't lost a game away from Kingston since the game at Rutgers back on Nov. 13.
  • After Sunday's game at the Ryan Center, URI travels to Dayton (Jan. 25) and Fordham (Jan. 31). 
  • Rhody's 8-1 road record is the best in program history.

BG GETTING BUCKETS

  • Rhode Island senior Brooklyn Gray turned in her second double-double as a Ram last time out, pairing a team-high 15 points with 11 rebounds in a Rhody road win at VCU.
  • Gray leads the Rams averaging 13.2 points per game and has scored 10+ points the last five straight games.
  • She became the latest member of the 1,000 point club after she scored a game-high 23 points in Rhody's win at George Washington.
  • A versatile guard, Gray adds 5.1 rebounds and a team-high 2.9 assists per game. 
  • In the victory over Richmond, Gray connected on a career-best four shots from 3-point range.
  • A Saint Louis transfer, Gray scored a career-high 30 points as a Billiken in last year's Atlantic 10 Tournament.
  • The Rockford, Ill. product was named to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference Second Team.
