KINGSTON, R.I. -- Rhode Island freshman Vanessa Harris was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the league Monday. It was the second weekly honor for the Glenarden, Md. product who led the Rams to wins over Richmond and Loyola.

Harris played a key role in the 2–0 week for the Rams, averaging 11.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists while logging nearly 24 minutes per contest off the bench. The rookie scored in double figures in both outings, shooting 39.1 percent from the field and 75.0 percent at the line, and finished the week with 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.

Harris impacted the game on both ends, committing just three total turnovers in the back-to-back wins.

The Rams return to conference action on Wednesday at George Washington. Game time is set of 11:00 a.m.
