How it HappenedÂ
Megan Steinbach scored in the 60th minute to help Rhode Island salvage a 1-1 draw with Richmond Sunday afternoon. With the result, the Rams have clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
Â
Richmond - which is tied for seventh place and battling for a postseason spot - took the lead just three minutes into the second half. Morgane Zinn took a pass from Kingsley Hughes  Hughes and found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead.
With both defenses preventing significant pressure, the teams combined for just eight shots on goal. Steinbach made the most of her lone shot, burying the goal with an assist from
Claire O'Neill to give the Rams a much needed point for the league standings.
