How it Happened
Rhode Island closed their 2026 regular season with their most goals in a game this season, defeating Maine at Fort Kent 6-1 on Friday evening.

The Rams got the offense going early, as a pass from third-year Tim Huhnholz was deflected through the back line right to the foot of second-year Maksim Kalina, who slotted the ball into the top left corner to give the Rams a 1-0 advantage at the 3:26 mark.

Rhody started the second half on a high note when Maksim Kalina drove to the box and got clipped from behind, earning a penalty kick. Sinan Bruning stepped up to the spot and buried the penalty to double the lead, 2-0.

The Bengals ramped up pressure and caught Rhode Island on the counterattack when goalkeeper Owusu sent a long ball to 18, who slid an easy pass to Clarke, who buried the chance to cut the Rams' lead to one.

Rhody responded just 39 seconds later with another penalty drawn this time by Bruning, and Nate Yurkovic made no mistake to regain the two-goal lead. Then Yurkovic sent a cross into the box that bounced into the path of Kalina, who made no mistake for his second marker of the game.

In the 67th minute, Yurkovic sent a long throw-in that went off the head of Theo Harris and to Sinan Bruning, who sent a one-timer past the Bengals keeper. Rhody scored another nine minutes later when Daniel Goba connected with Luca Krause to get the Rams' sixth goal of the night.
