How it Happened
Rhode Island won 10 events in a dual meet against Providence Wednesday night on their way to the team's third win of the season.
The Rams started on a high note when the relay team of
Clair Uliasz,
Maddy Deeney,
Molly Beckwith and
Avery Potyrala raced the 200-yard medley relay in 1:48.01. Rhody took the first four places in the 200-yard freestyle one event later, with
Emma Bertotto leading the field in 1:57.19 for her second win of the season.
Emily Whiteneck swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, her first victories of the season.
Anna Petke, who had won at least one of the diving events in each of the last three meets, finished second in both competitions.
Providence had success in some of the 50-yard events. Bella Lombard won the 50-yard backstroke and Lily Malone took the crown in the 50-yard freestyle. Lombard also secured the win in the 100-yard backstroke.
Rhody was able to shut the door on any potential late comeback, winning the last three events on the evening. The team of Uliasz, Potyrala, Beckwith, and this time
Chloe Robinson teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:39.00 to cap off the meet.
