How it Happened
Rhode Island earned its first victory in the
Colleen Mullen era, defeating USF 82-63 at the Opening Statement hosted by Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. Sunday afternoon.

Amaya Stewart leading the way with a season-high 19 points.
Delanie Hill (15 points),
Martina Borrellas (14)
Amori Jarrett (14) and
Sophia Vital (13) all got into the act.
The game was tight throughout the first half and midway into the third quarter before the Rams (1-2) used a 20-7 run over the final five minutes of the third quarter to create separation from USF. A step-back jumper by
Sophia Vital followed by a second-chance basket by
Delanie Hill give Rhody a 46-42 lead.

Amori Jarrett and Hill. Both hit a 3-pointer and went 4-for-4 at the free throw line as Rhode Island a 60-49 lead. Vital capped the surge with a jumper at the buzzer, giving the Rams a 13-point lead heading into the final period.
Rhody kept the Bulls at an arm's length throughout the fourth quarter, never letting its lead dip below double digits. A left-handed layup by Jarrett extended the lead to 72-57, and a
