KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island senior
Kylie Bulinski was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Buliski earned the honor for the second time in her career thanks to a monster week at the plate. She batted .778 (7-for-9) with two home runs, one double, three runs scored and seven runs batted in over four games. Bulinski reached base safely in 10 of her 12 plate appearances, good for an .833 on-base percentage.
Last Friday, she homered in both ends of a doubleheader against Tarleton State, collecting four RBI in a 13-1 victory. With the team trailing 3-1 in the final game of the series, she had a two-out, two-run double that tied the game. From Sunday's series finale against St. Bonaventure last week through the third game of the Tarleton State series, Bulinski had a streak of reaching base in 13 straight plate appearances (2 home runs, 2 doubles, 4 singles, 5 walks).
Bulinski joined Kellie Cookus and Kylie Shivery as the only Rhode Island softball players ever to earn multiple player of the week honors from the conference.
