How It Happened
Loyola Chicago scored in five of its seven turns at bat while handing Rhode Island a 7-2 defeat Sunday afternoon. The win completed a three-game series sweep for the Ramblers (20-19, 11-4 Atlantic 10).

After the visitors scored once in the top of the first, Rhode Island (11-21, 4-11 Atlantic 10) managed to tie the score in the second on a solo home run by Brooke Fairbanks.

Loyola Chicago got two solo shots in the third inning, as Nat Lesnicki and Liz Sedakis went back-to-back for a 3-1 lead. Riley Frickleton delivered an RBI single to drive in Julianne Torres in the bottom of the frame to get one back for URI.

That was as close as the Rams could get. Loyola Chicago scored twice in the fifth and two more times in the seventh to pad its lead. Rhode Island managed just one more hit over the final four innings off pitcher Katie Geydoshek, who went the distance to earn her fifth win of the season.
