How it Happened
A five-goal run in the fourth quarter was the difference as Saint Joseph's defeated Rhode Island 14-9 Saturday afternoon in the season finale for the Rams.
After Rhode Island tied the match 9-9 in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, the Hawks scored the final five goals. Saint Joseph's reclaimed the lead as Riley Bittinger's third goal of the day was assisted by Devon Maillet.
A Kate Kaptrosky goal padded the lead with 9:19 to go, and 22 seconds later, Alexa Capozzoli scored to put Saint Joseph's ahead, 12-9. Olivia McCloskey's third goal iced the game for the Hawks, and she added her fourth goal for good measure a couple minutes later.
