NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -
Lily Saul finished eight out of 242 runners to lead Rhode Island to 10th place at the UMass Dartmouth Cross Country Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Held on UMass Dartmouth's campus course, the 6000-meter race featured competitors from more than 40 schools. Saul's time of 21:40.44 was the top time amongst the eight competing Rams.Â
Zoe Catrambone was the second fastest Ram, placing 32nd with a finishing time of 22:35.89.
Hailey LaRosa wrapped up the Rhode Island contingent who finished inside the top 50 runners. LaRosa placed 42nd with a final time of 22:42.82. The Rhode Island combo of
Alison Pankowicz (23:29.44) and
Isabelle Mondo (23:30.08) finished 74th and 75th, respectively, and closed out the scoring for the Rams.
Kelsey Wolff (23:40.66),
Greta Dahl (24:33.08), and
Ada Jordan (24:53.97) rounded out Rhode Island's eight competitors.Â
Boston University (63), UMass Lowell (98), Bryant (107), Holy Cross (152), and Connecticut College (173) were the top five teams in the event. Tenth-place Rhode Island (229) was behind ninth-place Merrimack (220).Â
Rhode Island competes next at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa. The meet begins at 11 a.m.
