2021-22 (Junior)

  • Competed in all 11 events, helping lead the Rams to three team titles and six top-3 finishes.
  • Finished the year with a team-best 71.1 stroke average.
  • Turned in his best score (-8) at the Bash at the Beach (68-69-68=205).
  • Also finished under par at the Wildcat Fall Invitational (-2; t-3rd/45), the Georgetown Intercollegiate (-4; t-4th/56), the Battle at Rum Pointe (-3; t-3rd/120) and the Hartford/Wintonbury Hills Invitational (-2; 1st/40).
  • Was the top finisher at the Hartford/Wintonbury Hills Invitational, finishing with a 2-under 138 (73-65=138).
  • Had 10 sub-70 rounds, including a pair of 65s - at the Georgetown Intercollegiate and the Hartford/Wintonbury Hills Invitational.
  • Tied for 14th overall (E) at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

2020-21 (Sophomore)

  • Competed in each of Rhody's four tournaments in the COVID-19 shortened season.
  • Combined for a 73.0 stroke average.
  • Carded his low round (70) at the Rolling Green Invitational.
  • Turned in three top-10 performances - at the Hartford Invitational (t-6th), the Rolling Green Invitational (t-3rd) and the Upstate Spring Escape (t-7th).
  • Tied for 22nd (+7) at the Atlantic 10 Championship.

2019-20 (Freshman)

  • Competed in all five of URI's fall tournaments before the spring season was canceled due to COVID-19.
  • Turned in a 73.0 stroke average.
  • In just his second collegiate competition, tied for first place at The Doc Gimmler, turning in a 4-under score of 206 (67-72-67).
  • Had four sub-70 rounds in the fall.
Before Rhode Island
  • Played in his first tournament at the age of five, and was a six-time US Kids Golf Boston Tour Player of the Year (2007-12). 
  • In 2007, he finished seventh at the US Kids Golf World Championship. 
  • The following year he finished 18th in the World Championship and 11th in the Inaugural Kids Club European Championship.
  • In 2014, at 13 years old, he tied the record as the youngest player to ever qualify for the Vermont Amateur. 
  • In 2015, was the Vermont Junior Match Play Champion. 
  • In 2016, was the Vermont Junior Stroke Play Champion and played his first high school match, where he shot an incredible 30 (five-under), and qualified for both the Orange Bowl and Doral Publix. 
  • In 2017, qualified for Doral, finished third in the Vermont Amateur, and 16th at the New England Amateur. 
  • In 2018, finished 21st in the prestigious Big I National Championship, marking the third time he had qualified. 
  • Also won two US Challenge Cup events along the way.
  • For his high school career, Richards had a four-year scoring average under par, was a two-time captain, four-time Sectionals Medalist (2015-18), a State Medalist (Spring 2017) and a State Runner-up (Fall 2017). 
  • Was a two-time champion at the Vermont High School Invitational - where he shot 67, tying a 40-year-old record - as well as a two-time Times Argus Player of the Year.
  • Off the golf course, excelled in basketball as both an AAU player (2010-14) and varsity high school player (2017-19).
