• 2021 Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team

2022 (Sophomore)

• Recorded an assist in Rhody's 2-2 draw at La Salle.

2021 (Freshman)

• Appeared and started in 16 of URI's 17 games as a freshman.
• Finished the season with four assists, playing primarily at left back.
• Was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team.
• Assisted on both Rhody goals in a 2-0 win over Central Connecticut.
• Recorded an assist in URI's double-overtime win against #22 VCU.
• Registered an assist in URI's 3-1 win over Davidson in the A-10 Quarterfinals.

• Was a four-year member of the soccer team at Exeter-West Greenwich.
• Captained his team as both a junior and senior.
• Was a four-time All-Division selection (2017-20) and a two-time All-State First Team honoree (2019-20).
• Finished his high school career with 75 goals and 42 assists.
• Played club soccer for Rams FC Arsenal and was a six-time Golden Boot Award winner.
• Helped lead team to three Rhode Island State Cup titles (2015, 2016, 2018) and four Northeast Soccer League titles (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018).
• His 2019 team was the Bethesda Showcase Blue Group champion as well as the Jefferson Cup Showcase Silver Group champion.

• Born October 14, 2002.
• Son of Jodi and Seamus Purcell.
• His father - a New England Soccer Hall of Famer who currently serves as the head coach of Bryant's men's soccer team - was a two-time All-American and four-time All-New England selection for Providence College.
• He also was a three-year member of Irish National Team, competing in both the European and World Cup championships.
• Has one sister, Brianna.
• Enjoys video games, soccer and basketball.
• Favorite athlete is Mo Salah.
• Favorite team is Liverpool.
• Chose to attend URI over Bryant. 
• Selected Rhode Island because of the beautiful campus, the strong academics and the elite men's soccer program… Also felt a strong connection to the coaching staff throughout the recruiting process, especially after having played in the Rams FC system for a number of years.
