  • Transfer from Penn State where he spent his freshman year
  • Ran cross country and track for Avon High School
  • Seven-time Connecticut state champion, including six individual titles
  • Was New England champion in the mile as a sophomore
  • Had second-fastest mile in the nation by a sophomore
  • Set nine course records in cross country during high school career
  • Qualified for national championships six times
  • Named All-State for all seven seasons he competed
  • Named to All Northeast regional team
