Karli Collins

Karli Collins joined the Rhode Island Sports Medicine staff as an assistant athletic trainer in July of 2019. She works directly with the softball program while providing support for football as well.

Since January of 2019, Collins also has worked as an athletic trainer with USA Gymnastics, providing coverage for regional, national and international events. She has worked the USA Gymnastics Championships, USA Training Camp, FIG World Cup and other events.

Collins came to Rhode Island after spending the last two years working with the University of Louisiana football program. While with the Ragin' Cajuns, she provided primary coverage for all football-related sporting activities, including summer workouts, conditioning, practices, and all competition. Communicated with head coaches, assistant coaches, strength and conditioning coaches regarding injury reports, status of the
athletes as well as determining practice plans for each athlete. Collins also assisted in providing coverage and care for athletes in the Sun Belt Conference tournaments for baseball, softball and tennis. She assisted with Sway and IMPACT testing, constructed rehabilitation programs and coordinated return to play protocols.

For one year, Collins was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Cumberland University in Tennessee. She served as the primary athletic trainer for men’s wrestling, and men's and women's golf.

Collins is certified with the Rhode Island Athletic Trainers Association, Graston Technique® Certification (M1 Basic Training), 3D Maps® and the National Athletic Trainers Association. She also has been associtated with the Sunbelt Conference Mental Health & Wellness Committee and the Louisiana Athletic Trainers Association.

She earned bachelor's degrees in Athletic Training and Health and Human Performance from Cumberland University in 2015. Collins finished her master's degree in Sport and Exercise Science in May of 2016.

A native of Tarpon Springs Fla., Collins now resides in West Kingston, R.I.
