Tori Constantin joined Whitney Goldstein’s staff as an assistant coach in August of 2021. She enters her third season in 2023.
Constantin works with the team's outfielders. In 2023, Hannah Hernandez earned Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team honors. Hernandez batted .283 with 34 hits, 12 runs scored and 11 stolen bases in her first season in Kingston. She took over as the team's starting centerfielder midway through the season. In Atlantic 10 play, she batted a team-best .309 and had 17 hits while starting 17 conference games.
In two seasons since Constantin joined the staff, the team's outfielders improved drastically to a .969 fielding percentage, combining for 434 putouts, 29 assists and 15 errors over 101 games. In the three seasons before Constantin arrived, URI's outfielders had a .943 fielding percentage, combining for 386 putouts, 28 assists and 25 errors over the course of 93 games.
Constantin also assists with hitting instruction. In 2023, the Rams had the fifth most hits in program history (354). It was the team's most in 13 seasons. URI also drew 134 walks, the third most in program history.
Before coming to Rhode Island, Constantin spent two seasons as an assistant coach at MIT. She recruited student-athletes and helped with planning and coordination of prospect camps while there.
Constantin was the Director of Operations for the East Coast Firecracker softball organization in Londonderry, N.H. from May of 2018 until June of 2019. In that role, she oversaw and coordinated information for seven ECF teams ranging from 12u to 18u. Constantin developed player skill sets, coordinated fundraising events, scheduled tournaments and ran a strength and conditioning program.
Constantin served as the Director of Summer Softball Skills Camp for The Softball Company every year from 2016 through 2019. She also was a hitting and fielding instructor for Extra Innings in Wrentham, Mass. from 2011-13.
A four-year softball player at Central Connecticut State, Constantin led the Blue Devils to a pair of appearances in Northeast Conference (NEC) Tournament, as well as an appearance in the NCAA Division I Championship Tournament during her freshman season. She was an everyday infielder, finishing her career with 10 home runs, 70 runs batted in and a .231 batting average in 176 contests.
Constantin graduated from Central Connecticut State in 2018 with a degree in Exercise Science.
