Catherine Cassidy

Rhode Island women's basketball head coach Colleen Mullen announced the hiring of assistant coach Catherine Cassidy in May 2026. Cassidy follows Mullen from UAlbany, where she was on staff since 2018. During her tenure, she helped guide the program to four consecutive 20-win seasons and multiple postseason appearances, including the 2022 America East Championship and three conference title game berths.

Cassidy joined UAlbany after three seasons as an assistant coach from 2015-2018 at Stonehill College. Under Cassidy’s guidance, the Skyhawk’s reach the Elite Eight for the first time in program history. During her tenure in Easton, Mass., Cassidy coached five different players to NE-10 All-Conference honors.

From 2013-2015, she was an assistant coach for Kinsborough Community College.

Cassidy graduated from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2013 with a degree in Fitness & Wellness Leadership with a minor in Business and Marketing.
