Rhode Island women's basketball head coach Tammi Reiss announced Emma Squires to her staff in August of 2023. Squires was a captain of the women's basketball team in 2022-23 and was part of the historical squad that set records and captured the teams first-ever Atlantic 10 Regular Season Title.
Squires spent her undergrad at Richmond, where she was named the 2021-22 Atlantic 10 Sixth Woman of the Year. She appeared in all 30 games for the Spiders in 2021-22. Squires averaged 10.8 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent (52-of-118) from long range in her senior year with the Spiders.
At Tabor Academy, Squires was named to All-New England Prep for three straight years (2016, 2017, 2018). She was First Team All-Conference in 2018 at Tabor and was named a Top 100 Forward in America by Preferred Athlete.
