Takima Keane

Rhode Island women's basketball head coach Tammi Reiss announced the addition of Takima Keane to the staff as an assistant coach in July of 2022. Keane comes to Kingston after spending the last three seasons as an assistant at Binghamton. She joins Reiss in her fourth year at the helm with a wealth of NCAA Division I experience, both as a player and coach.

Prior to Binghamton, Keane had stops on the coaching staff at both Canisius (2017-18) and Northern Illinois (2015-17). She was involved in all aspects of each program, including recruiting, player development and scouting. Keane has worked individually with both guards and post players.

During the 2018-19 academic year, Keane was the head coach at the RISE Academy Prep School in Toronto. While there, she helped with recruiting, daily operations, game strategy and both individual and team player development.

A native of Ajax, Ontario, Keane is a 2012 graduate of Cleveland State. She played four seasons for the Vikings and was part of the team that won the 2010 Horizon League championship. As a senior, Keane finished second on the team with 74 assists.

Outside of coaching, Keane has been involved with the Long Live Hoop Women's Youth Program since 2011, serving as a Women's Outreach and Community Relations Specialist. In addition, she has worked with The Village/Cabbagetown Youth Center Charity since 2007 as a Senior Site Coordinator/Administrator.

After earning her bachelor's degree in psychology, Keane went on to earn her Master's Degree in Sports Management from Northern Illinois in 2015.
