Biography

2015 (FRESHMAN): Played in 18 games, starting in 9...finished the season tied for second on the team in points (six) and tied for third in goals with two....she scored her first two colliegate goals in a 4-3 win over UMass on Aug. 27....she notched 23 shots, 10 on goal. 

Before URI: Attended Nelson High School where she competed in soccer, track and field, volleyball, basketball, and ice hockey... She was a team captain in her senior season... Was named Female Competitive Player of the Year in 2014 and Female Athlete of the Year in 2010... Also played club soccer for Burlington Youth Soccer Club... She was a Volleyball MVP and played club ice hockey for the Burlington Barrcudas... She was the MVP at the Ontario Summer Games where she was a medalist and her team reached the finals... 

Personal: Her favorite athletes are Mia Hamm and Rob Gronkowski... She is a fan of Manchester United and the New England Patriots...

Coach Needham on Wakeford -  "Emily is a sneaky and athletic attacking player. She is an intelligent soccer player that has a knack for getting behind opposing defenses and causing problems. We are excited to see what Emily brings to our group in the fall."
