2017 (Senior)

  • Played every minute of every game for the Rams.
  • Finished the season with a 10-6-3 record, 90 saves, eight shutouts and a 1.05 goals against average.
  • Was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Midwest Region Third Team.
  • Also earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team accolades as well as All-Academic honors.
  • Made four saves in URI's season-opening shutout victory over Boston University.
  • Posted his second shutout of the season in Rhody's 4-0 win over Bryant.
  • Stopped all six shots he faced in the Rams' 3-0 victory over Marist.
  • Combined for eight saves in back-to-back scoreless draws at #16 New Hampshire and #25 Brown.
  • Earned three straight Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week awards (Sept. 11, Sept. 18, Sept. 25).
  • Also was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week on Sept. 18.

  • Stopped all six shots he faced at George Washington, leading URI to a 1-0 win in the opening round of the Atlantic 10 tournament. 

2016 (Junior)

  • Team co-captain.
  • Finished the season with a 8-10-1 record, 67 saves and a 1.48 goals against average.
  • Earned Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference honors, in addition to ranking 45th in Top Drawer Soccer's preseason listing of the nations top-100 players.
  • Made seven saves in Rhody's 2-1 double-overtime win at Providence.
  • Recorded his first shutout of the season in Rhody's 1-0 win at St. Francis Brooklyn.
  • Made five saves in a 1-1 double-overtime draw at Drexel.
  • Turned in his second clean sheet of the season in a 1-0 win over Stetson, at UAB's Soccer for a Cure Classic.

2015 (Sophomore)

  • Team co-captain.
  • Played in 19 of URI's 20 games, missing just one (UConn) due to illness.
  • Finished the year ranked second in the Atlantic 10 in total saves (83), third in save percentage (.789) and fourth in goals against average (1.07).
  • Was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference Team and later earned A-10 All-Conference First Team and NSCAA All-Midwest Region Second Team accolades.
  • Posted four shutouts and allowed multiple goals in just five of URI's 20 games.
  • Opened the season with his 10th career shutout in URI's 2-0 win over Drexel.
  • Had six saves in a 1-0 loss at Albany.
  • Recorded five saves in URI's 3-1 win over Bryant.
  • Made six saves in a 1-0 loss to No. 8 Providence.
  • Stopped two shots to earn the win against Quinnipiac.
  • Turned away each of the four shots that he faced to post his second shutout of the season in Rhody's 2-0 win at NJIT.
  • Recorded 11 saves against St. Francis Brooklyn.
  • Posted his third clean sheet in a 3-0 victory at Yale.
  • Made nine saves in a 1-1 draw with #22 Boston College.
  • Turned away each of the six shots he faced in URI's 1-0 win at George Washington.

2014 (Freshman)

  • Was identified as a First-Team Freshman All-American by Soccer America, College Soccer News and Top Drawer Soccer.
  • Was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Championship Team.
  • Earned the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year award as well as First-Team All-Conference and All-Rookie honors.
  • Was a four-time A-10 Rookie of the Week (Sept. 29, Oct. 6, Oct. 20, Nov. 10).
  • Also was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week on Nov. 10.
  • Collected ECAC Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 1 and Nov. 11
  • Finished the season ranked 12th in the nation - and first among all Division I freshmen - with a .837 save percentage.
  • Was the only goalkeeper in the A-10 to finish the regular season ranked in the top-5 in both shutouts (2nd, 8) and saves (2nd, 80). 
  • Allowed just three goals in Atlantic 10 play, posting an impressive 0.43 GAA against conference opponents. 
  • Was unbeaten in 10 consecutive starts from Sept. 14 - Oct. 26.
  • Finished the year with nine shutouts overall.
  • Registered his first win of the season in URI's 2-0 shutout over NJIT.
  • Turned away six shots in his second shutout - a 1-0 win over Yale.
  • Made a pair of saves in URI's win over Sacred Heart.
  • Posted his third shutout victory of the season with six saves against Stony Brook.
  • Stopped all 12 shots he faced in a 0-0 draw with Albany.
  • Posted his fifth shutout of the season in URI's conference-opening victory at Fordham.
  • Collected his sixth win in URI's victory over George Washington.
  • Became the first Rhode Island goalkeeper to take down a nationally-ranked team in over a decade when the Rams defeated #22 George Mason, 3-1.
  • Turned away four shots agaist Dayton to his sixth clean sheet of the season in Rhody's overtime win.
  • Posted his seventh shutout with a six-save performance at Saint Joseph's.
  • Made 11 saves in URI's regular season finale - a 1-0 win at Duquesne.
  • Recorded his ninth shutout of the season as the Rams defeated Dayton 1-0 in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament.
  • Posted his 12th win of the year in URI's double-overtime victory over George Mason in the A-10 semifinals.

Before URI

  • Was a member of the FC Schalke 04 Reserves Squad in the German Regionalliga.
  • Won the U19 West German Championship with the FC Schalke 04 academy team.
  • Also won the U19 State Cup Championship as well as the U19 West German and German National Championships in 2012.

  • Son of Karlheinz and Ute Leifhelm.
  • Has two younger brothers, Mathis and Finn.
  • Enjoys spending time with friends, watching movies and swimming.
  • Favorite athlete is Manuel Neuer.
  • Favorite team is FC Schalke 04.
  • Chose to attend URI because of the soccer coaching staff and the rich tradition of the program.
  • Majoring in Finance.
  • Would like to pursue a career in soccer.
