Brandon Gillis enters his second season as an assistant coach for Rhode Island in 2024-25. He joined the staff in September of 2023.

In his first season, Gillis helped Bryson Richards earn Division I PING All-Northeast honors, as well as a spot on the All-Atlantic 10 Team. Richards was a four-time A-10 Golfer of the Week and three time medalist. Gillis also helped develop freshmen Tony Liu and Josiah Tong. Liu was a three-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, while Tong earned the honor once.

A two-time Division I PING Northeast All-Region Team selection, Gillis had a storied career for the Rams from 2018-23. A four-time Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week, he also was a two-time A-10 All-Conference selection and GCAA All-America Scholar for the Rams.

 After beginning his collegiate career at Wake Forest, Gillis transferred to URI in 2018 and had to sit out the 2018-19 season. Over the next four seasons, he played in 30 events for Rhode Island, winning two and finishing second four more times. He had nine top-five finishes during his time with URI.
 
Gillis graduated from Rhode Island with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Psychology.
