Candler Harris

Candler Harris joined the Rhode Island as the Director of Athletics Marketing in the summer of 2022. He came to Rhode Island from Northwestern State in Louisiana where he was the Director of Marketing and Digital Media.

In this role there, Harris oversaw all marketing, fan experience, and social media initiatives for football, men's basketball, women's basketball, and baseball, as well as strategies pertaining to the athletic department as a whole. He also served as the primary creative lead for all video and graphic production for the department and teams. On the university side, Harris had oversight for all branding decisions related to Northwestern State University with third party or on campus vendors and was an adjunct professor of Sports Communications in the New Media School. 


Prior to NSU, Harris was a Sports Marketing Associate at Duke University. While with the Blue Devils, he was responsible for creation and implementation of all marketing and fan experience initiatives for volleyball, wrestling and women's lacrosse. He also assisted in planning and executing marketing strategies for Duke men's and women's basketball as well as Blue Devils football.
 
Before his time at Duke, Harris was the Director of Athletics Marketing at Arizona Christian University for nearly two years before serving as the Operations and Marketing Manager at Franklin Pierce University. 


Harris got his start in athletics by serving as the Ole Miss Mascot "Rebel" during his time as a student there, while also interning in the Ole Miss Athletic Foundation
 
After earning his undergraduate degree in Integrated Marketing and Communications from Ole Miss, Harris completed his Master's Degree in Sports Law and Business at Arizona State in May 2018.
