Jason Azulay joined the University of Rhode Island in September 2010 as an assistant Strength and Conditioning coach, where he has been working with various varsity teams, including women's rowing, women's soccer, men's soccer, softball, women's track and field, football, men's track and field, baseball and women's swimming and diving.Azulay came to Kingston, R.I. after spending time as a strength coach and personal trainer at Next Level Fitness in Johnston, R.I., where he worked since January 2008. He provided training programs, conditioning methods and educated athletes on issues such as nutrition, supplements and rest and recovery, to name a few of his responsibilities.During 2009-11, Azulay was a volunteer running back and linebacker coach, as well as a strength and conditioning coach for the Seekonk High School varsity football team in Seekonk, Mass.Prior to his time in Mass., Azulay worked from 2007-2010 at East Bay Football Camps in Rhode Island, working summer sessions.Azulay earned his Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State University in 2010, where he was a four-year member and three-year letter winner on the varsity football team as a running back, full back and tight end.He then earned his CPR & AED Certification from the American Heart Association in May 2010 and was certified as a strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in October 2010.Updated Sept. 23, 2011
