Lisa Furlong joined the Rhode Island Athletics Business Office as an assistant business management officer in August of 2021.
Furlong has been at the University since 2015, when she joined the URI Graduate School as an administrative assistant. She worked closely with the deans and other staff members on schedule and travel coordination. She was a member of the Commencement Committee for the Graduate School and assisted the fiscal clerk with purchasing and travel authorization requests, among many other duties.
In 2018, Furlong joined URI’s Office of Capital Projects as an assistant business management officer. She oversaw financial administration of the office operating budget and handled accounting related to purchasing, payroll reporting, college requisitions, travel reimbursements and more.
A 2019 graduate of Rhode Island College with a degree in Psychology, Furlong worked for the Imaging Institute in Cranston, R.I. as an office/mammography coordinator from 2007-16. She also was as a medical records technician for the Army National Guard in Providence, R.I.
