Nick DiStasio has joined Rhode Island Athletics as its Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement in August of 2021.
DiStasio came to URI from the University of Wisconsin-Stout, where he spent the last two years as an external relations and promotions coordinator. While at Wisconsin-Stout, he was the primary marketing manager for all 16 of the department’s varsity programs. He handled social media marketing efforts for all teams on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube while also serving as the game day producer and in-game host for all revenue sports.
DiStasio managed online merchandise sales and assisted in managing the Blue Devil Fund, which generated $170,000 in revenue for the department.Â
Before his time at Wisconsin-Stout, DiStasio worked as an External Affairs Graduate Assistant at Canisius College from August of 2017 through May of 2019. While there he spent time as the basketball game day producer as well as the on-campus promotions producer. As an undergraduate student, he was an Athletics Promotions Intern at Canisius from 2013-17.
DiStasio’s experience also includes time with the Buffalo Beauts women’s professional hockey team, the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championship, the 2017 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship first and second rounds and the 2019 NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four.
