Tristan Burge is entering his first season with Rhode Island in2013. Burge joined head coach Joe Trainer’s staff as thecornerbacks coach in March of 2013.

Burge came to Rhode Island after spending the 2012 season as agraduate assistant at Frostburg State, where he worked with thedefensive backs and kick/punt returners. Burge also spent threeseasons coaching wide receivers and defensive backs at RomeovilleHigh School in Romeoville, Ill.

A starting strong safety at Eastern Illinois, Burge twice earnedFirst-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors and was a Third-TeamI-AA All-American by the Associated Press and TheSporting News as a senior. Following his collegiate career,Burge signed as an undrafted free agent with the Green Bay Packersand spent 2007 on the team's practice squad. He also playedprofessional indoor football with the Bloomington Extreme (2009)and the Rock River Rapids (2008).

A 2009 graduate, Burge earned his degree from Eastern Illinois inphysical education.
