In his eighth year in 2011 as the Associate Director for Athletics Development, Tarinelli plans and implements all aspects of the annual giving program for URI Athletics. That includes the segmentation, writing and production of all athletics mail appeals and coordination of personalized acknowledgments for philanthropic gifts. Working with the Ryan Center Box Office, Tarinelli oversees all aspects of the URI Athletics priority point system for men's basketball as well as the distribution of other annual donor benefits.Tarinelli maintains a portfolio of major donors & prospects made up of alumni, parents, season ticket-holders, and friends of URI Athletics. This includes the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major donors $25,000 - $50,000 and above, as well as securing planned gifts. Along with the rest of the URI Athletics Development staff, Tarinelli continually promotes a growing culture of philanthropy throughout the Rhody community.Prior to joining Rhody in November 2007, Tarinelli worked as an Athletics Marketing Associate at the University of Connecticut. With special attention to sponsorship fulfillment, he coordinated all aspects of marketing game operations for men's basketball, football, ice hockey, and assisted with women's basketball. He also worked closely with the NCAA Compliance Office to facilitate all charitable donations and student-athlete appearances.Tarinelli spent ten years at the University of Vermont, as a varsity student-athlete, coach, and administrator. A two-time captain of the gymnastics team, he went on for two years as the assistant coach while also coaching men's & women's diving. He then spent the next two years as the Director of Marketing & Event Management Coordinator. After being promoted to Assistant to the Director of Athletics for one year, Tarinelli left the Catamounts to pursue his Master's degree.Trueson and his wife Robyn have three daughters, Emily, Sarah, and Kate.Updated Sept. 22, 2011
