Women's Soccer Takes On Temple At 7:00 p.m.

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Rhode Island women's soccer team will host its second Atlantic 10 match-up on Friday against the Temple Owls at 7:00 p.m. as the Rams try to break the 7-7 series tie. The Rams were victorious in their first Atlantic 10 match-up defeating the UMass Minutewomen 4-1 on September 17, 2004.

The Rams who are 4-6-0 (1-0-0) on the season are coming off a 0-2 weekend as they lost 1-0 to Boston University and 1-0 to New Hampshire. The Rams dominated the field, out-shooting the New Hampshire Wildcats 19-8 as Melanie Kasparek (Trumbull, Conn.) had five of the Rams 19 shots. Melanie also leads the team, along with her twin sister Megan, in goals and assists with three and two respectively.

The Owls (3-5-0) are 0-1-0 in the Atlantic 10 conference, losing their first conference game to the Saint Joseph's in a 1-0 shutout. Sophomore Kelly Lare leads the Owls with 16 shots, two goals and one assist.

The Rams will be back in action as they take on the Saint Joseph Hawks on Sunday at the URI Soccer Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m.
