How it Happened
La Salle took advantage of a late corner kick to pull out a 1-0 victory at Rhode Island Thursday night.

On a night when the Ram defense allowed just three shots on goal, the visiting Explorers were able to capitalize. In the 77th minute, Rylee Henson sent a corner on net, and Kayden Williams was able to knock it home for her second goal of the season.

Rhode Island appeared on the verge of scoring early and often at the start of the match. URI opened with a barrage on net, as Jill Rosenfeld, Kyra Samalonis and Lauren MacDonald all had shots on net in the opening 10 minutes. Samalonis and MacDonald's shots were both strong opportunities, but La Salle keeper Mackenna Yaracs was up to the task, making saves on all three chances.

The Rams managed just one shot on goal the rest of the way. Sarah Yee's shot in the 54th minute was stopped by Yaracs, who got her second shutout of the year.
