KINGSTON, R.I. - The University of Rhode Island women's soccer team will take on the Richmond Spiders on Friday afternoon in the semifinals of the 2004 Atlantic 10 Championship.

Rhody clinched the bye in quarterfinal play, after taking the number two seed heading into the Championship. Richmond advanced after defeating UMass on Thursday 1-0.

The Rams were able to top the Spiders already this season in a 2-0 shutout defeat as Claire Landon (Bedford, N.H.) and Lauren Forgione (Southington, Conn.) netted one goal each.

The Rams are 10-8-2 and 7-2-2 heading into today's game while the Spiders are 7-4-0 in conference play and 10-7-1 overall. If the Rams are victorious, they will face the winner of the Saint Joseph / Dayton game and advance to the finals to be played on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
