Box Score

Ambler, Pa. - The University of Rhode Island baseball team swept their series with Temple (7-26, 1-11 A-10) with a 7-4 victory on Sunday at Ambler Field outside Philadelphia.  Sophomore Brett Palanski picked up the win for the Rams after pitching four scoreless innings in relief giving up only one hit while striking out six.

The Owls got on the board early, putting up three runs off URI starter Adam Perkins in the first. Temple added another run in the fifth to take a 4-0 lead.

From that point on, it was all Rhody. The Rams scored seven unanswered runs, including two unearned in the sixth as a dropped fly-ball allowed Rhode Island to get on the board. A two-run triple by sophomore catcher Zach Zaneski off reliever Rob Licata tied the score in the sixth.

Senior second-baseman Wayne Russo had two hits and two RBI including a single up the middle to plate the go-ahead runs.

The Rams (21-6, 9-2 A-10) return to action on Tuesday as they travel to Worcester, Mass. to take on Holy Cross at 5:00 p.m.
