PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The University of Rhode Island softball team split its doubleheader with La Salle University Friday afternoon, winning game one 5-1 before dropping game two, 6-2. Due to poor weather conditions, the games were played at Holy Family University.

Sophomore Darci Borden laced an RBI double in the second to push the lead to 4-0, and senior Danielle Quimby drove in the URI's fifth run with a single in the third. La Salle pushed across its only run in the fifth.

Senior Jill Anderson earned the win, allowing eight hits and one run over seven innings while striking out six.

In game two, sophomore Leah DiBussolo belted a two-run home run in the first to stake URI to a 2-0 lead.
