BOSTON -- Kaylen Shimoda's second half goal was not enough as Rhode Island dropped a 2-1 decision at Harvard on Friday night.

Shimoda's team-best third goal of the year came early in the 61st minute as URI (0-6-1) tied the match at 1-1. She took a Stephanie Santos service ball from 20 yards out, firing a blast past Harvard GK Jessica Wright.

The Crimson got on the scoreboard first, as Melanie Baskind scored off a header on a long throw-in from Aisha Price in the 41st minute.

Reiber registered six saves in goal for Rhode Island, while her counterpart Writer made five saves. Harvard outshot URI, 21-18, with the home team holding an 8-6 edges in shots on-goal.

The Rams return to action on Sunday, Sept. 19 at Quinnipiac.
