Box Score

WHAT IT MEANS

Rhode Island earned its first road victory of the season – and its first of the 2012 calendar year – at Boston College, 78-72, in double overtime.  The win improves Rhody's overall record to 3-12 and closes out the Rams' non-conference slate.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE AND BEYOND

* Billy Baron led four Rams in double figures with a career-high 24 points.  The 6-2 sophomore came off the bench to connect on four 3-pointers and all 10 of his free throw attempts.  He also added a career-best eight rebounds.

* Mike Powell posted his second straight 21-point performance.  The freshman from Chicago was 7-of-15 from the floor (3-7 3FG), while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out three assists.

* Prior to the game, the Atlantic 10 selected Powell as its Co-Rookie of the Week after averaging 15.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per game at the UCF Holiday Classic.

* The Rams also had a pair of double-doubles from Orion Outerbridge (10 points/11 rebounds) and Jonathan Holton (11 points/10 rebounds).  Rhody also had a pair of double-doubles on Dec. 4 at home versus Maine.

* For Outerbridge, it marked his second straight game with 10 or more rebounds.  The 11 boards is a new career-high.

* Rhody's 30.9% shooting from the floor (21-68) was the second lowest FG% mark of the year.  URI shot just 30.3% from the floor earlier versus Providence.  It was the eighth game in which the Rams shot under the 40.0% mark.

* It is the lowest FG% mark in a Rhode Island win since Feb. 3, 2007, when the Rams shot just 28.0% from the floor in a 45-44 victory at Fordham.

* URI tied its season-high with 12 steals.  The Rams also registered 12 swipes in the Dec. 18 game vs. Yale.

* Baron's 10-for-10 free throw shooting on the game was the best by a Ram since Brian Woodward was 16-for-16 versus Yale on Jan. 7, 2004.

* As a team, the Rams made a season-high 27 and attempted a season-high 35 free throws.

* Anthony Malhoit and Levan Shengelia tied for the team lead in steals, with three apiece.
