Box Score How it Happened:
The Saint Joseph's Hawks (8-5-2, 3-1-1 A-10) were able to hold of the Rhode Island Rams (8-7-1, 1-4-0 A-10) 2-0 Sunday afternoon in Atlantic 10 play. Saint Joseph's scored in the first half to go up 1-0 when Olivia McEachern broke away in the 35th minute off of Mo Hawkins pass.
The second goal, to secure the win for the Hawks, came in the 81st minute when McHale Perkins was able to finish off of scrum in front of the net. Kersten Formento assisted on the play.
Inside the Box Score:
- Rhode Island had the edge in shots recording a total of 10, compared to Saint Joseph's seven. The Rams had six shots on goal, while four were on goal for the Hawks.
- Both teams took three corner kicks.
- Saint Joseph's was called for 19 fouls to Rhode Island's six.
- Christine Neal recorded six saves for the Hawks while Chelsea Broghamer turned away two shots.
Coach Michael Needham's Thought:
"We battled for 90 minutes with some great individual performances, but soccer is won and lost in the box and we didn't score today. We talk a lot about being good, but we need a moment of greatness in the attacking third to be the team that I know we are. We are excited to get home and get our points next weekend."

- The Rams move to 6-6-1 all-time against Saint Joseph's.
What's Next:
The Rams return home next Friday, Oct. 19 to face off against George Washington (4-8-1, 0-4-0 A-10) in the team's "Pink Out" night. All fans are asked to wear pink in their support of breast cancer awareness. Donations will be collected at the entrance and survivors will be honored at halftime. Kickoff for the game is set for 7 p.m.
