Box Score How it Happened:
St. Bonaventure (8-10-1, 5-4-0 A-10) snuck by Rhode Island (11-8-1, 4-5-0 A-10) 2-1 Sunday afternoon in cold and rainy conditions in the final game of the regular season.
Rhody went up 1-0 in the first half when sophomore Chelsea Gates (South Kingstown, R.I.) scored the first goal of her collegiate career in the 32nd minute when she controlled a pass from Jennifer Barrientos (Reseda, Calif.) and found the right side of the net.
The Bonnies evened the score in the 61st minute when Molly Curry scored on a pass from Brittany Charles.
St. Bonaventure scored to go ahead 2-1 in the 77th minute, sealing the victory. Shannon Van Riper headed in the goal off of a cross from Charles.
