How it Happened
Saint Joseph's (8-18, 1-0) built a 2-0 lead over the first three innings before an RBI ground-out by Pat Fortunato plated Pat Quinn and got Rhody on the board in the top of the fourth. A lead-off solo shot by Brian O'Keefe, however, put the Hawks back in front by two (3-1) in the bottom of the frame.

Rhode Island (10-13, 2-2) cut it to 3-2 in the top of the eighth when Pat Quinn's two-out single drove in Chris Famiglietti but Rhode Island was unable to even things up in its final trip to the plate, stranding a runner on third in the top of the ninth.
