Rams Host BU, Alabama and Central Florida for Two-Day Event

KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island hosts its third consecutive race this weekend when Alabama, Boston University and Central Florida pay a visit to Narrow River.

"This weekend, we will take on a strong regional opponent in Boston University as well as two strong out of region opponents in Alabama and Central Florida," said Shelagh Donohoe, URI's head coach. "We are excited to have these teams race in Rhode Island."

There will be two days of racing, starting Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with a set of five events – the Third Varsity 8, the Varsity 4B, the Varsity 4A, the JV 8 and the Varsity 8.

On Sunday, the same events will be held, but in reverse order, starting at 7 a.m.

Rhode Island is coming off a strong showing against defending national champion Brown last week. While the Bears won each of the races, Rhody was just seconds off the pace in each event. This week, the Rams look to take another step forward as it works to establish itself as a top flight program.

"After two weeks of racing under our belts, we expect a high level of execution in each phase of the race," Donohoe said. "The team continues to work hard and realizes the importance of each week of racing."
