KINGSTON, R.I. - Rhode Island Rowing's
Bella Bruno and
Bethany Nordstrom were named to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team, per an announcement made by the conference on Wednesday morning.
URI, which won its 11th A-10 title this spring, was one of two teams in the league that placed a pair of rowers on the 10-member squad, joined by George Washington.
A senior from Glastonbury, Conn., Bruno carried a 3.90 GPA in biological sciences. In her final year with the Rams, she rowed in the seventh seat of the Varsity 8+ that won its flight at the 2025 A-10 Championship. A First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection, she also served as a team captain in 2024-25.
Hailing from Victoria, British Columbia, Nordstrom has a 3.94 GPA in psychology. Also a member of the All-Atlantic 10 First Team, she rowed in the sixth seat of the Rams' Varsity 8+ at the league championship. This is the third all-conference honor for Nordstrom, who earned First Team accolades in 2024.
By leading Rhode Island to the Atlantic 10 title, Bruno and Nordstrom helped the team secure an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship where the program placed 21st in the country.
