How it Happened
Saint Joseph's (24-30) got on the board first as Brett Tiagwad scored on a two-out infield single to put the Hawks up 1-0 in the third. A two-out solo shot by Kevin Taylor then doubled St. Joe's lead at 2-0 in the top of the fifth.
Rhody (32-24-1) had its best chance in the bottom of the frame when the Rams loaded the bases for Jeff Cammans, but a fly out to the left field warning track ended the inning before the Rams could do any damage.
The Hawks went on to add an unearned run in the top of the ninth, defeating URI 3-0 to pick up their first-ever Atlantic 10 tournament victory.
Inside the Box Score
- The 3-0 loss marked just the fourth time this season that the Rams were held scoreless.

- Tim Caputo and Joe Landi each had two hits for the Rams, who finished with five as a team. Kevin Stenhouse also reached twice, going 1-for-3 with a walk.
- Saint Joseph's Alex Pracher took the win, allowing just five hits over a complete-game shutout of the Rams. Brian O'Keefe led the Hawks offense with a 3-for-5 day at the plate.
