Rams Defeat Maine to Open 2014 Season

Setting the Scene
Rhode Island competed in their first scored meet of the season on Friday night in Kingston, defeating Maine by a score of 181.50 to 118.50.

Rhode Island Highlights

  • Chaya Zabludoff finished first in the 1000-yard and 200-yard and 100-yard freestyle races. She posted a time of 10:39.31 in the 1000, swam the 200 in 1:52.17, and 51.69 in the 100.
  • Lauren Folkert and Hannah Homans both finished less than six tenths of a second behind the winner of the 100-yard backtroke. Folkert won the 200-yard backstroke.
  • Porshe Ferrell led a group of three Rams to finish at the top of the 50-yard freestyle.
  • Cara Brown earned the highest score in the 1 meter dive.
  • The Rams had the top two times in the 200 yard medley relay.
  • Sarah Keshishian, Jenna Kirchoff, and Sydney Williams finished 1-2-3 in the 500-yard freestle.

Up Next
The Rams are back in action Saturday, Nov. 1 when they compete in the Ed Golden Invitational. The event is set for 1 p.m.
