Team Standings
HAMPTON, Va. – Rhode Island seniors
Hannah Benavides and
Ella Hacker tied for the team's best finish of the 2025 Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championship on the final day Saturday. They placed sixth in the 200-Yard Breaststroke and the 200-Yard Butterfly, respectively.
Their performances helped the Rams score 189 points. It is the best team score for URI since the 2017 A-10 championship.
Their performances came in back-to-back events Saturday night. It started with the 200 Breaststroke, where Rhode Island had two women advance past the prelims. Benavides reached the finals, while sophomore
Logan Norrid qualified for the consolation final.
In the finals, Benavides delivered Rhody's best finish of the four days, placing sixth with her time of 2:16.21. She scored 13 team points with the performance. Norrid took 12th place to add five points points for the Rams.
In the next event, Hacker took sixth place in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 2:02.83. She scored 13 team points, while sophomore
Julianna Tyler added a 10th place finish, adding seven more points to Rhody's score.
Senior
Maddie Tetreault outperformed her seeding to qualify for the consolation final in the 200-Yard Backstroke. Seeded 20th She placed 15th out of 41 entrants. Her time of 2:03.10 earned two team points.
In the final event of the championship, URI's 400-Yard Freestyle Relay team of
Rylee Kelly,
Julia Havice,
Abby Zadorozny and
Avery Potyrala placed ninth.
Rhode Island finished 10th in the team standings.

George Washington won its fourth straight team title with 598.5 points, just ahead of Richmond (571). Duquesne had 525 points to take third place. The rest of the field was more than 180 points behind the top three.
