How it Happened
Central Connecticut (7-7) took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third but the Rams quickly cut it in half thanks to back-to-back fourth-inning doubles by redshirt sophomore Derek Gardella and senior Pat Quinn.

Rhode Island (4-19) had runners in scoring position in the sixth, seventh and eighth but were unable to push another run across before CCSU made it 3-1 in the bottom of the eighth.

Inside the Box Score

• Senior Pat Quinn led the team with a 3-for-4 day at the plate. He also drove in URI's lone run of the afternoon.
• Sophomore Connor Foreman also reached three times on two hits and a walk.
• Along with Quinn, redshirt sophomore Derek Gardella and freshman Dan Hetzel both doubled for the Rams. 
• Gardella was the only Ram to cross the plate at CCSU.
• Rhody's 8-2 hitters combined to go 0-14.
• Franklin Jennings had three hits and an RBI for the Blue Devils while Anthony Turgeon had two hits and a run scored.
• Senior Tyler Bowditch was charged with the loss as he allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over a 3.0-inning start.
• Freshman Evan Flanagan tossed four frames of shutout relief, striking out four batters and scattering three hits.
• CCSU starter Brett Susi picked up the win as he allowed only one run on four hits over five innings of work.
