How it Happened
Saint Joseph's (10-15, 3-3) wasted no time getting on the board as Deon Stafford opened the game with a leadoff double and crossed the plate two batters later on a single by Matt Maul.

Rhody (11-12-1, 4-3) evened it up in the bottom of the frame when Mike Corin's sac-fly plated Tim Caputo, who had led off the inning with a single up the middle. Mike Sherburne then tripled to right center and came around to score on a Jordan Powell groundout in the bottom of the second, giving the Rams a 2-1 advantage.

Corin then doubled in the bottom of the third, again driving in Caputo while putting the Rams on top 3-1. Immediately after the RBI knock, the game was halted due to heavy fog limiting visibility at Bill Beck Field.

When play resumed 30 minutes later, Moyers sat the Hawks down in order in the fourth and allowed just one base runner in the top of the fifth before Rhody exploded for five runs in the bottom of the frame.

Ryan Olmo started the rally with a one-out triple and came around to score on a base hit by Chris Hess. Martin Taveras then blasted a three-run shot over the right-center wall to add to the Rams' lead before Sherburne tripled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Powell to make it an 8-1 game.

The Hawks added a run on a sac-fly in the sixth, and had runners on first and second with one away when a second fog delay halted play -- eventually for the night.

When play resumed on Saturday, St. Joe's scored a trio of unearned runs in the top of the sixth to cut into Rhody's lead at 8-5. However Connor Foreman scored in the bottom half of the inning and back-to-back eighth-inning doubles by Corin and Hess sealed URI's 11-8 win.
