How It Happened:
Ari Stanton tallied the first score of the match - and her fourth goal of the season - in the 7th minute, taking a Megan Tracewell pass on the right side into the box and past UVM keeper Ally Ramos. In the 16th minute, the game tied at 1-1, after a Rhode Island player inadvertantly scored an own-goal. The score was tied 1-1 at the half.
In the second half, Chelsea Gates found the back of the net in the 54th minute. She took a lead pass from Emily Wakeford into the box and fired a shot off the diving Ramos. Gates corralled the rebound and put it in for her first goal of the season. But UVM would again score the equalizer, as Rylee Osgood beat URI keeper Katie Nickles 1v1 in the 67th minute. Osgood would strike again, giving the Catamounts a 3-2 lead in the 71st minute off a header in the box.
