How it Happened
Trailing 7-2, Rhode Island began to chip away at Winthrop's lead in the top of the eighth. Martin Figueroa then singled to drive in Olmo and an Eagles error allowed Hess to score as well, getting Rhody within two (7-5).
After a 1-2-3 bottom of the frame, Jesse Lee and Chase Livingston scored on a two-run single by Olmo to tie the game at 7-7. However, Winthrop's Anthony Paulsen delivered a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the ninth to give the Eagles the walk-off win.
