How it Happened
A leadoff home run by Connor Perry put Holy Cross (15-20) up 1-0 in the bottom of the first. The Crusaders stretched it to 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth and added another run two innings later to lead 4-0 after seven complete.

The Rams (11-15) finally got on the board in the top of the eighth, pushing across three runs to make it a 4-3 game. Mike Foley crossed the plate first, on a ball-four wild pitch to Jordan Powell. Chris Hess then scored on an RBI single by Chase Livingston before a Laurence Hill sac-fly scored Powell to cut the Crusaders' lead to one.

Holy Cross got a run back in the bottom of the frame however, on Rhody's third error of the game.

The Rams threatened in the top of the ninth as Foley was walked and Hess singled to left. Both runners then advanced on a two-out wild pitch, but that was as close as Rhody would get.
